German media quoted Tesla Germany’s internal chat messages on September 25 as saying that the electric car maker celebrated the achievement by giving employees extra time off and hosting a pizza party. However, foreign media said that Tesla Berlin Gigafactory manager Andr\u00e9 Thierig was not necessarily very happy about this milestone.<\/span><\/p>\n

While achieving production of 400,000 vehicles in two and a half years is satisfying, Thierig stressed that other German carmakers have recently encountered significant challenges. German media said the executive asked Tesla’s German team if they wanted to be in a similar situation to Volkswagen.<\/span><\/p>\n
