According to foreign media reports, the United Auto Workers (UAW) said on September 25 that union members representing Ford’s tool and die department at River Rouge Complex had reached a preliminary agreement with the company, one day ahead of the strike deadline.

According to a union member, Ford’s Rouge Complex in Dearborn, Michigan, has about 6,000 employees, including more than 500 workers in the tool and die department.

The union said that union members will review the details of the preliminary agreement and hold a vote in the next few days to determine whether to approve the agreement. The union added: “If the agreement is approved, it will set a new standard for technical jobs at Ford.”
