However, the report said that Trudeau took cautious action because of concerns about China&#8217;s &#8220;retaliation.&#8221; <\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:18px\">Canada currently imposes a 6% tariff on electric vehicles made in China, and the purchase of these cars is eligible for a federal electric vehicle rebate of up to $5,000. However, due to Canada&#8217;s relatively cold geographical location, its development of new energy vehicles is relatively slow.
