Geely: EU Decision To Impose Countervailing Duties Not Constructive

         On October 4, representatives of EU member states voted to adopt the draft final ruling on the EU electric vehicle countervailing case submitted by the European Commission, proposing to impose a final countervailing duty on electric vehicles originating in China. In response, Geely Holding Group said that the European Commission’s decision to impose countervailing duties is not constructive.

 

        Geely Holding Group said in a statement that it is very disappointed with the European Commission’s decision. The decision to impose countervailing duties is not constructive and will hinder the economic and trade relations between the EU and China, which will ultimately jeopardize the interests of European enterprises and consumers.          In August, Geely Group (including Geely, Lutz, Link, Polaris, Volvo, and Polaris Krypton) sold 22,152 units in Europe, up 17 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary data from market researcher Dataforce. cumulative sales of the Geely Group in Europe from January to August were 270,095 units, up 19 percent year-on-year.
