Electric truck manufacturer Nikola recently announced that it will lay off 15% of its employees to cope with continued market challenges and economic pressures. Company executives said the move is aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and reducing costs to adapt to the impact of increased competition and supply chain issues in the industry.
Nikola is actively adjusting its business strategy to focus on the development and marketing of core products. Although the decision to lay off employees has an impact on employees and communities, the company hopes to achieve long-term sustainable development through these measures and continue to promote innovation and growth in the field of electric vehicles.
In the second quarter of this year, Nikola lost more than $133 million, but it maintained a more positive attitude due to increased sales. The company said in a press release: “We expect that as the sales of our models increase, our revenue will also increase.”
Despite the continuous setbacks, Nikola CEO Stephen Girsky remains positive about the company’s future. He said: “Despite the overall market conditions, Nikola will still focus on our mission to create solutions for a zero-emission world, and we are gradually achieving this goal.”
